Winning Craps with Dice Control
Everybody has heard at least something about winning craps games (or rather rigging them) with dice control. Before we get into the details, it’s important that you understand that we are in no way endorsing dice control. Dice control is an unacceptable activity that casinos consider cheating.
Some shooters have been known to get into a subconscious rhythm, repeating the exact motions of their previous rolls. While this can result in monstrous winning streaks, it is not a matter of dice control.
The term dice control, in fact, is inherently misleading. Simply put, it is impossible to completely control the craps dice. There are too many variables at play. On a flat table, playing a game like Monopoly it may be plausible, but not in a game like craps in which the dice must first hit the wall. That being said, it may be possible for a shooter to increase the odds of landing on a certain number by throwing the dice in a controlled manner. A controlled dice toss, however, will only improve the odds by 10% at most.
How It’s Done
Again, while we do not endorse dice control, it is interesting to understand how it’s done.
There are four key factors to “controlling” a roll. The first is your grip which positions the dice in your hand. Second is the rhythm of your shake which helps you further position the craps dice before they leave your hand. Third is the power of your throw which determines the length of time the dice will roll after release. And finally there’s the release itself the angle of which determines what side of the dice will roll across the table, as well as how they’ll hit the backboard.
